Fordson -Club Finland

Fordson-Club Finland was founded in the autumn 1997 by some tractor enthusiasts.
Today (Jan 2008) has the club got approx. 400 members from six countries.
The original idea was to gather as many Fordson tractors together as possible and to form a kind of brotherhood whose Fordson know-how would be available for all club members.
Now 10 years later we can ascertain that tens if not hundreds of tractors have been restored and “brought back to life” by the help of the Fordson Club.

So far Fordson-Club Finland has arranged nine major tractor events, and there is more to come. The Fordson-Club annual event Rauta ja Petrooli (Iron and Kerosene) takes place during the second weekend of September at Uudenmaan Maaseutuopisto in Hyvinkää (Hyvinkää is situated 50 km north of Helsinki).

The club has arranged trips abroad almost yearly.
In year 2000 we visited Cheffin's Tractor Millennium in England.
In 2001 we went to IHF in Holland. Next year 2002 the target was Traktorama in Germany, 2003 Viksta Veteranmarknad in Sweden, 2004 International Tractor Festival in England, 2005 machine museums in Estonia and Latvia. In 2006 we went to Holland, Panningen again.
In 2007 no trip was arranged, due to several 10-years anniversary happenings that were arranged in Finland.
In 2008 the club will visit Minsk in Belorussia.

Publishing is an important club activity.
A member leaflet is published when needed.
In the Fordson Farming special magazine series have so far six magazines been published; Mörkö Special about the old Fordson Major (1945-1951), Ännä Special about the Fordson N (1929-1945), Äffä Special about the American F model (1917-1929), Major Special about the New Major (1951-1964).
The Dexta Special was published at Christmas 2006 and Amerikan Ford Special in December 2007. All these “Special” magazines can be ordered from the Fordson-Shop.

The member fee is 25 euro per year, except for females and males under 30 years, 15 euro per year.
For the members fee you get admittance to all club services as contacts to spare part and book suppliers abroad, rights to take part in trips arranged by the club, right to vote at the annual meeting and two “Special Magazines” of own choice in connection with joining the club, etc.
Fordson-Club Finland is the leading club in Finland, collecting and restoring Old agricultural machines and tractors!
